Description: Alexander Brachmann has reported a vulnerability in the Freetag plugin for Serendipity, which can be exploited by malicious people to conduct cross-site scripting attacks.
Input passed in the URL is not properly sanitised before being returned to the user. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's browser session in context of an affected site.
Successful exploitation requires that the target user uses Internet Explorer 6-7 or Netscape Navigator 8.x.
The vulnerability is reported in version 2.95. Prior versions may also be affected.
Solution: Update to version 2.96.
